Step by step
- Sign in to Netflix in a web browser. Open Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on a computer, phone or tablet and sign in to your Netflix account.
- Pick a code. Find a genre on Netflix Codes, for example 8711 for horror movies.
- Enter the genre URL. In the address bar, type
netflix.com/browse/genre/followed by the code, such asnetflix.com/browse/genre/8711, and press Enter. Or just tap the arrow next to the genre on this site. - Browse and save. You'll land on that genre's page. Add anything you like to My List so it's waiting in the app on your TV or phone.
On a computer (Windows or Mac)
This is the easiest way. Any desktop browser works: paste the genre URL into the address bar, or click the arrow next to a genre on this site.
On iPhone, iPad or Android
Use your phone's browser rather than the app. If tapping a link jumps into the Netflix app and lands on the home screen, long-press the link and choose to open it in the browser, or switch the browser to “desktop site”.
On a smart TV, Fire Stick, Roku or console
TV apps don't let you type a web address, so codes can't be entered there. Browse the genre on your phone or laptop, add titles to My List, and they'll be waiting in the TV app.
